A week on one page

Sometimes a pen is the easiest way to start. This free template fits a whole week on a single sheet: four rows a day for meals and snacks, with space for what you had, roughly how much, and anything worth remembering.

Print it, keep it on the fridge or in your bag, and fill in a row whenever you eat. There’s no calorie column on purpose. The goal is an honest record you’ll actually keep, and you can add numbers later if you want them.

Print this page and only the template comes out, sized for a single landscape sheet. Make as many copies as you like.

Tips for filling it in

  • Write it soon after eating. A line at the table beats trying to remember the whole day at bedtime.
  • Use everyday amounts. “One bowl”, “two slices” or “half the plate” is plenty. You don’t need a scale.
  • Remember the extras. Drinks, sauces, spreads and the bites in between are the easiest to forget.
  • Keep notes short. Where you were, who cooked, or how hungry you were can help when you look back.
  • Skip a row, not the week. Missed a meal? Leave it blank and carry on with the next one.

When paper gets tricky

Paper is great until the sheet stays at home, or you want to know how many calories or how much protein a week of meals added up to. That’s where Meali comes in.

Write the same kind of line in Meali, snap a photo, or just say what you ate. Meali works out the calories, protein, carbs and fat for you, keeps your words beside the numbers, and shows your day and week at a glance on iPhone and iPad. See how it works.
